Setting up Handepay

You will need a Handepay merchant account before you start. If Handepay does not appear as a selectable option, you may need to remove your current credit card gateway first — hosted payment methods can remain alongside it.

   In the Foxy administration at https://admin.foxy.io, go to Settings > Payments.

   Select the payment method set you want to add it to.

   Click Add payment method + and choose Handepay. If Handepay is greyed out, remove your existing credit card gateway from this payment method set first.

   Enter your Merchant ID, supplied by Handepay.

   Enter your Pre Shared Key, supplied by Handepay.

   Click Create.

The panel is split into a Live setup block and a Test setup block carrying the same two fields. Fill in the credentials above under Live setup.

Testing

Foxy provides shared test credentials for Handepay, so you can run test transactions without setting up your own sandbox account. Leave the Test setup fields as they are.

Those shared credentials only exercise the integration itself. If you need to test against your own account configuration, contact Handepay for a test merchant ID and your own test card numbers.

Obtaining a test account

Handepay can provide a test merchant ID for your own account. Contact Handepay support to request one.

Test card numbers

Handepay's gateway runs on Cardstream's platform underneath, and Cardstream's published test card numbers work for Handepay as well: see Cardstream's test cards article.

Advanced features

Foxy can pass an optional order reference number to Handepay. Add a field named gateway_order_reference to your checkout form, with the value you want to appear in the Handepay back end — for example, your own order number or an integration-generated reference. One way to add this is through the Custom Checkout Fields option in the templates configuration settings of the Foxy admin. This value shows up in the Handepay back end against the transaction.

Important notes and caveats

• Handepay only appears as a selectable gateway if your payment method set does not already have another credit card gateway attached. Hosted payment methods (methods that redirect the customer to a hosted page) do not block it.

• Handepay supports 3D Secure and authorize-only transactions.

Troubleshooting

Handepay's response and error codes are the same set used by Cardstream, the platform underneath. See Cardstream's error codes reference for what a given code means.

For anything the error code reference doesn't resolve, contact Handepay support directly — they can see transaction detail that Foxy cannot.
