Set up Facebook and Instagram checkout on Squarespace with Foxy

Before getting started

Follow this tutorial to integrate Foxy with your Squarespace site: Use Squarespace Commerce to manage your Foxy products

Get Squarespace API Key

   From your Squarespace site, go to Settings > Developer Tools > Developer API Keys.

   Click the Generate Key button.

   Enter a name for the API key (ex: Foxy Checkout).

   Under Permissions, toggle Products and choose Read Only.

   Click Generate Key.

   Copy the key and store it somewhere safe. It'll be needed in a later step.

Create a Foxy Automations Workflow

1. 1

   Go to Foxy Automations: https://store-STORE_ID.automations.foxy.io/ (Replace STORE_ID with your Foxy store ID).

   Click the Create Workflow button at the top right.

   On the new workflow page, click the … (three dots) button at the top right.

   Choose Import from URL…

   Copy and paste this URL in the pop-up window: https://cdn-js.foxy.io/website-helpers@1/foxy-meta-checkout-squarespace.json.

   Click Import.

Configure the Workflow

   In the workflow canvas, double click the Configurations node to open the settings.

   Update the field values: 
   

   Field	Description
   Squarespace API Key	The value of your Squarespace API key
   Foxy Store Domain	Your Foxy store domain (e.g. example.foxycart.com)

   Close the node settings window.

Update Instagram/Facebook Checkout URL

1. 1

   In the Foxy Automations workflow, double click the Checkout URL node.

   Under Webhook URLs, navigate to the Production URL tab.

   Click the URL to copy it.

   Update the Instagram/Facebook checkout URL following this guide: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1324891268731018.

Activate & Test Workflow

From the Foxy Automations workflow page, you can now publish the workflow. When clicking the checkout button in Instagram or Facebook Shop, you should now be redirected to the Foxy checkout with the products in cart. We recommend running at least one test order to ensure everything works as expected. You can view the output for each node from the workflow’s executions tab for detailed information.
