Set up a product category for digital products

How to create and configure a Foxy product category so it can be used to sell digital products.

Before you can create a digital product in Foxy, you need a product category with its delivery option set to “Downloaded by the customer”.

Steps

    Go to the Foxy admin

  2. 2

    Go to Product Categories

  3. 3

    Click Add a category or click an existing category to edit it

  4. 4

    Set the Product delivery option to Downloaded by the customer

  5. 5

    Optionally configure download link expiry:

    • Maximum downloads — the number of times a download link can be used before it expires

    • Maximum hours — the number of hours before a download link expires after purchase

    Save the category

Notes

  • You can use your default category for digital products, but this is not recommended unless your store sells digital products exclusively. Applying a digital delivery option to a category used by non-digital products can cause errors.

  • Expiry settings apply to all products in the category. If you need different expiry rules for different products, create separate categories.
