Multicurrency overview
How Foxy handles multiple currencies, including switching the whole cart's currency with template sets and converting individual product prices automatically
Foxy supports multicurrency in two ways: changing the currency of the entire cart, and dynamically converting an individual product's price from one currency to another. Both are driven by two parameters, template_set and price.
The two mechanisms
template_set switches the currency (and, if configured, the language) for the customer's whole cart for that session. It's set once per session, not per product. See Set up multicurrency with template sets.
price with a currency code appended sets the currency for a single product. If that currency doesn't match the cart's current currency, Foxy converts it. See Set product prices in a specific currency.
How conversion works
When a product's currency differs from the cart's currency, Foxy converts the price to the cart currency automatically. Exchange rates come from openexchangerates.org.
Dynamic conversion requires at least two template sets with differing locales configured on your store. With only one locale, there's nothing to convert between.
Default currency
New customers see your store's default locale, taken from the DEFAULT template set (or the store locale setting on your store's settings page).
