Configure guest and account checkout options

How to control whether customers can check out as a guest, create an account, or only use one of those options.

Your store’s checkout type setting controls whether customers can check out as a guest, create an account, or only use one of those options.

Steps

    Go to the Foxy admin.

    Go to Settings > Checkout

  3. 3

    Under the Customer accounts section, choose desired option for Allowed account types:

    • Guest and account, default to account — customers can do either, account is pre-selected.

    • Guest and account, default to guest — customers can do either, guest is pre-selected.

    • Account only — customers must create an account to complete a purchase.

    • Guest only — customers cannot create an account or save payment/address info for future orders.

Notes

  • “Default to guest” and “default to account” only affect which option is pre-selected — customers can still switch to the other before submitting their order.

  • account_only and guest_only remove the choice entirely; customers can only use the selected mode.
