Cybersource is Visa's enterprise payment gateway and fraud platform (now also marketed as Visa Acceptance Solutions), used by large merchants worldwide, and it supports multiple currencies.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>This is the Cybersource integration to use.\u003C\u002Fstrong> The older \u003Ccode class=\"badge bg-soft-danger text-danger\">Cybersource.com\u003C\u002Fcode> integration in Foxy is deprecated and is no longer offered when you add a payment method. If you are setting up Cybersource today, choose \u003Cstrong>Cybersource REST\u003C\u002Fstrong>.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Foxy also offers two other Cybersource-branded options for different products — \u003Cstrong>Cybersource Card Swiper\u003C\u002Fstrong> (card-present magnetic stripe hardware) and \u003Cstrong>CyberSource Secure Acceptance Web\u002FMobile\u003C\u002Fstrong> (Cybersource's hosted\u002Fembedded payment form). Cybersource REST is the standard direct gateway integration and is the right choice unless you specifically need one of those.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>What Cybersource calls your credentials\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Foxy's panel asks for three values, and \u003Cstrong>Cybersource does not use the same names for any of them.\u003C\u002Fstrong> This is by far the most common source of setup errors, so map them before you start:\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Merchant ID\u003C\u002Fstrong> — What Cybersource calls it: Merchant ID, sometimes "organization ID". It is not generated — you already have it.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Key\u003C\u002Fstrong> — What Cybersource calls it: The \u003Cstrong>Key\u003C\u002Fstrong> value shown after generating a REST shared secret key. Fill in your own credentials under \u003Cstrong>Live setup\u003C\u002Fstrong>. (The Live heading reads "Live setup (inactive)" while the payment method set has \u003Cem>Use live credentials\u003C\u002Fem> switched off — that reflects the current state of the set, not a different set of fields.)\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch3>Cybersource-side account settings\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Cp>There are two settings on the Cybersource side, not in Foxy, that are worth checking once the gateway is connected:\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>SmartAuth \u002F CVN settings.\u003C\u002Fstrong> In the Business Center, under \u003Cstrong>Account Management → SmartAuth Settings\u003C\u002Fstrong>, confirm your card verification number (CVN) handling matches how you want declines to behave. UK accounts can skip this — CVN is not available there and the equivalent controls live in Decision Manager instead.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Decision Manager.\u003C\u002Fstrong> Cybersource applies basic fraud screening through Decision Manager by default, even on a basic package. If transactions are being rejected in ways you do not expect, that is the first place to look.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Cp>Foxy always sends the CVN \u003Cem>unless\u003C\u002Fem> the customer is paying with a saved card or Foxy is processing a subscription renewal. That is normal and expected: the first transaction validates with the CVN, and later transactions validate through other signals such as address verification.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>Cybersource tokenization\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Use Cybersource Tokenization\u003C\u002Fstrong> is a toggle in the panel, off by default. Turn it on when you need to charge a customer's card again later without holding the card details yourself — subscriptions and recurring billing, saved cards for returning customers, or any flow where you charge after the original checkout has ended.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>With tokenization on, Cybersource creates a customer profile for the payer on their side, and Foxy stores a reference to it instead of card data. You can see those profiles in the Cybersource Business Center.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>If you consume Foxy's data feed, the identifier for the stored profile arrives as \u003Ccode class=\"badge bg-soft-danger text-danger\">paySubscriptionCreateReply__subscriptionID\u003C\u002Fcode>. (See the caveat about this field name in the notes at the end of this draft.)\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>If you are not doing recurring or repeat billing at all, leave the toggle off.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>Card verification\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Cybersource REST supports card verification, and Foxy exposes it as the \u003Cstrong>Card verification\u003C\u002Fstrong> dropdown in the panel. Verification checks that a card is valid and active before the card is stored or used, rather than discovering it at charge time.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The dropdown defaults to \u003Cstrong>Off\u003C\u002Fstrong>, which the admin itself labels as not recommended. Set it during setup.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>Testing\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Foxy provides shared test credentials for Cybersource REST, so you can run test transactions without setting up your own sandbox account.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Those shared credentials only exercise the integration itself. If you need to test against your \u003Cem>own\u003C\u002Fem> Cybersource account configuration — your own SmartAuth rules, your own Decision Manager profiles, your own tokenization setup — get a test account from Cybersource and fill in the \u003Cstrong>Test setup\u003C\u002Fstrong> fields with its credentials.
