By now, you’ve probably heard about Gumroad’s decision to switch to a no monthly fee pricing structure. Before we discuss what their new pricing approach looks like, let’s learn a little bit about Gumroad.
Founded in 2011, Gumroad is an ecommerce platform that allows you to sell products in their marketplace or directly on your website (similar to Foxy). They support most product types, but gear towards digital products and memberships.
Gumroad offers a lot of great features and has a beautiful backend to manage everything… but what about their pricing?
Instead of charging a monthly or yearly fee, Gumroad now charges a 10% fee for all sales (this does not include credit card processing or PayPal fees). This may be welcomed news for those that don’t sell very often. But for others, this change could crush an online business.
Fortunately, there’s an alternative… Foxy. Our pricing starts at $25/mo or $255/yr. This includes your first 100 transactions each month. Anything over that will get a .75% transaction fee with a minimum of 1 cent and a maximum of 20 cents. Like Gumroad, our pricing does not include any fees charged by your payment gateway.
